There’s something deeply unsettling about realising you finally have a best friend you actually want to hang out with. Like… what is this? Why am I voluntarily leaving my house? Who approved this? For years, friendship felt a bit like a group project you didn’t sign up for. You showed up, you did your part, you laughed at the right moments, and then you went home and needed three to five business days to emotionally recover. There were the “we should catch up soon” friendships (we should not), the “I’ll come if they’re there” friendships, and the classic “I don’t even like this but I’m here now” friendships.
